Meant to be a dancer

This day marks the end of my first week as a Sophomore at BYU. I have moved into my apartment, gotten used to off-campus living, woken up early, gone to class, met new people, gone to my first BYU football game (in which we beat Washington State), and been asked on a date which is happening tonight. All in all a successful first week (plus a few days) back in Provo.
Random side note: blogging is so stressful. There's so much pressure to be funny, insightful, and just flat out awesome!
Wednesday I was waiting for one of my classes to start and as I was doing so I watched the ballet and ballroom dance classes. It made me so sad because I have begun a journey down the road of dance through both of those classes but have not been able to continue through either. And not because I suck but because the classes fill up too fast and I cant sign up for them. It depresses me. I'm a dancer. At least at heart.

  That's all for now!

Crazy warm week

This is a crazy week. And it's only day 2. So far I've had a midterm and a paper due. And I have one more midterm and one more paper. Plus a presentation, a homework file, and a couple of quizzes for Statistics. The craziness of this week blows my mind. I need some kind of stress relief. Last week I went to Rec Night for the folk dance program here at BYU. It was super fun and I have never folk danced before. That was stress relieving. I think now because of that I want to take Folk Dance Class. Actually just dancing in general is very stress relieving. Even if it is in front of my mirror.
This week so far in addition to being super stressful has also been unusually warm. I'm praying that it will stay this way till April. After I go home it can get cold and snow again. But until then PLEASE BE WARM!!! It's so weird to think about the end of the semester coming up soon. That means I have to pack up all of my stuff and leave the dorms behind. Next year I'll be in an apartment. Which is weird but at the same time exciting. Next year I start taking classes for my major. WEIRD.
Ya know a lot of the things I've been talking about here lately really are not that exciting. Just things that have been floating around in my brain. Like a journal. Lucky for all of you. Like this: I have to grow pea plants for one of my classes and they went from being like an inch tall to BOOM! a foot tall. They've started wrapping themselves around the blinds instead of around the pencil structure I built for them to climb on. Rude.

    Well until next time!

I love shoes and long weekends

So I really like shoes. Lately I've been really into Toms. They're cute and comfy, not to mention their charitable nature. For every pair you buy they send a pair to someone in need. Which is pretty nifty. I want to get 3 different pairs right now but unfortunately have no money laying around. Which is fine. It just means I have to put off looking stylish for the time being. I'm super excited because this upcoming weekend is Presidents Day weekend which means I HAVE NO SCHOOL ON MONDAY!!!! I probably wont do anything exciting this weekend but at least it'll be a short week and a nice break from tests and other schooly things. Well I'm going to go to a floor activity for my hall.

I'm a Hunger Games Fan

Okay so I cannot wait for the Hunger Games movie to come out. It took me awhile to read the book. I'd seen it around and heard really good things about it from everyone but never thought about reading it for myself. When I was home for christmas break I saw it laying down in my sisters room and thought I'd see what all the fuss was about. I could not put it down it was sooo good! And now I am super stoked for the movie! I even found out what district I'm in on Facebook! Other than talking about my Hunger Games excitement I really have nothing else to share today. Except for maybe a haiku!!

          a dollar can go
along way but it's not more
          powerful than love.

That was my haiku for yesterday. The prompt was to write something about a dollar and I did. I also though since it was Valentines Day that I ought to throw something in about love. Well until next time!

A Solid Year and A Half in School

Third semester at BYU and things are getting hectic. I realized today that I have been in school for over a year. I don't know if it is quite a year and a half yet but still… I need a break! I really like school but my brain is starting to have more farts than bursts of genius. This semester I think my favorite class is Greek & Roman Mythology (CLCV 241). It's really interesting and sometimes the discussions are really entertaining. My second favorite class would have to be the Cultural History of Medicinal Plants (PWS 101). It is by far the most useful class I am taking this semester! It's funny how things all relate to each other somehow. Recently I've noticed things from one class being discussed in another ( whether it is important to that subject or not).
I started this creativity journal and it gives me a prompt for creative projects to do everyday. So far the artsy stuff has been not super awesome ( as in you probably will never find it in a museum), but it's good in the sense that it gives me something fun to do everyday to escape from the clutches of Homework, an evil monster. And along with that I've been doing a Haiku-A-Day. None of those are very good either but they are kinda sorta fun to read. So for anyone whose out there to have a reason to read this other than to be mystified by the meanings of my ramblings, here you go:
        Never given a
        chance to do all that I could;
        The dominant wins.
The prompt for this one was working with your non-dominant hand (which just so happens to be my left). Well true to college student nature I've stayed up way longer than I should've. So, sadly, I must go!
